Desi version of "Italian Job", and its made by none other than Abbas Mustan, our very own thriller specialist. A bunch of people who are out for Gold in Russia, manages in stealing it, betrayed by one of their partner and tries to hunt him down in NewZealand. Quite a lot!
But did it manage in delivering what we expected? Its a big NO! Where are the twists and the turns which we expect from the duos? Its just like any other average movie which lacks in every department, may it be in script, acting, dialogue, screenplay, chemistry between the lead actors, huuhhh ... its difficult to count now. The movie lost its pace from the beginning and somehow managed to generate some before the interval but alas lost it again 20 - 25 minutes post interval. It just kept on dragging till end with some repeated dialogues, predictable scenes and immature acting.
The acting department is quite shaky with just Spider (Neil Nitin) executing his part well. He is growing as an actor with each and every movie that passes by, few more good ones and he can make it up to some good heights within the industry. Abhishek might look just average for most and for the peoples who do not like him much might vision him below average in this movie. Bipasha was okay in her performance but with her hot and well chiseled body she would definitely make the boys drop their jaws. On the same lines, Sonam apart from looking pretty was weak playing her part, Omi was good but didn't get much support from the script, Vinod Khanna seems to be confused, Bobby was wasted and hey did any body realised about Sikander!
The movie is lost in its own story telling which keeps on stretching for about 2 hour 40 minutes with very few good things to speak about. The music is just average and so is the background score. Scenes were not well thought of before executing them within the movie and as a result of which lot many of those seems childish and unreal.
Overall its a bad start for Bollywood in 2012. The movie can be a one time watch but with your own risk and if you feel your schedules are tight, never mind skipping it!

ReplyDeleteTotally agree....!
ReplyDeleteThis movie can be declared as "comedy" rather than thriller...
Disappointing story and unwanted twists...
Abbas-Mastan movies are very predictable now, everyone must have expected to see a rebirth (characters dying and coming again with a bash). The only good thing in the movie was Aftab Sivdeshani died (once) in the very beginning. ;)
The movie could have been better if they could have made a blind copy of the "Italian Job".
